I started crying on Monday, when I heard that Madelyn Dunham had passed before she could see her grandson become President of the United States.

I kept on crying on Tuesday morning when I saw lines wrapped around the corner to get into the polling place around the corner from my house.

I took an Ativan when I got to work to keep me from crawling under my desk and spending the whole day rocking in the corner.

I cried when I heard the poll workers at my polling place marvel at the sheer number of people that turned out to vote.

I cried when they called Pennsylvania.

I cried when they called the election.

I cried when he stood on that stage and gave his victory speech.

I'm crying while I write this post.  I would like to stop now.  I figure I should be dried out by next week.

I do live in that country after all.

It is one of my most fervent wishes that Sarah Palin be torn to shreds by a pack of starving, rabid wolves.

Failing that, any death that is slow and agonizingly painful is okay by me.
