I LOVE librarything -- Rather than keeping a complete inventory of my endless book collection, however, I started keeping track of everything I read from last fall onward.

No, but if it had a barcode scanner I totally would. I still might, but it wouold be a project of months to get all my books entered, probably. What the hell - I think I will join. Same username as here.

I got mine yesterday, they were very speedy in shipping it out to me.

I spent all day doing it, I'm up to 851 books entered. I cleared out my spare bedroom of books, now I have to start on the rest of the house. :-)

It is a time suck, especially now that I have a barcode scanner. I feel kind of like a librarian.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm kind of sad that they don't have a way to catalog ebooks, I've got 392 of them. :->

I figured the worst part is going to be dragging all the books over to be scanned. I assume it has to stay plugged in via USB while scanning? At least it will give me a good opportunity to go through them all again, maybe find some more to get rid of. And I will get great exercise lugging stacks of books up and down stairs.

Aw, man, brilliant! I would love to have one of those puppies. I have rooms full of books, and no idea what I've really got except for those I re-read frequently!

I stopped at 1,001; I didn't want to wear the CueCat out. :->

And yes, it needs to be plugged into a USB port, but the cord is pretty long.

I signed up and started by adding all of the books you and I have in common (which is 35 books!). Now I want to add the rest of mine in to see how many I have. I think the barcode scanner would be handy. Where did you get yours?
