random thoughts for a hot as fuck sunday afternoon:

So far, I have:

* done two loads of laundry (work clothes and sheets)
* vacuumed the dining room
* swept the kitchen (and vacuumed up the furball tumbleweeds)
* fallen up the stairs rushing from the basement to the second floor to grab sheets I'd forgotten

Injuries sustained:

* quarter sized piece of skin scraped away on left elbow as arm slammed into the wall (wood paneling, which must be picked from wound after I finish typing)
* right hand/wrist area abraded from futile,desperate grab for the banister
* large patch of scraped off skin on right knee from impact with stairs (old plywood, painted grey, also must be picked from wound)
* Approx. 8 inch bruise pattern starting at right ankle and going up right shin. Right leg appears to have borne the brunt of the fall, and the black and blue is already starting to rise, so it's going to be one hell of a bruise.

It can be summed up thusly:

((Lex + Lack of Grace) x Excessive Speed) + Old Stairs = FUCK! OW!

Still to do:

* clip ferret claws
* vacuum living room, ferret room
* do dishes
* pick bloody pieces of paneling and staircase out of my person
* laundry (whites)
* take out recycling (aluminum)

Here is my one and only weigh-in on the whole 'fanfiction.net dropping NC-17 fic' thing.

IMO, it would have gone a lot easier for Xing had he said, "I'm getting a lot of flak for NC-17/RP/whatever fic, lawsuits have been threatened/lynch mobs have been formed/cease and desists have been issued, and so to protect the site at large, I'm ousting those categories." Period. The end. There's no argument there. It's his sandbox, and at the end of the day, he has to protect his own ass.

I've noticed that some people who write NC-17 rated fiction (non-RPF) have been deleting those stories and re-uploading them as R rated fiction. Granted, yes, some of those stories are probably in reality only R-rated, with nothing explicit, but some of the ones I've seen have explicit sex scenes.

How can anyone justify reloading the story at a lower rating if (a) the content hasn't been altered or (b) the story was not incorrectly rated in the first place?

'Just because I want to keep it on the site' is not an adequate answer to this question.
