friday five
Feb. 8th, 2003 12:13 am1. What did you have for breakfast this morning? If you didn't have breakfast, why not?
A cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee. A Boston Creme donut. That is kind of abnormal. I usually have a cup of yogurt and a piece or two of raisin bread. My favorite breakfast is a bacon and egg sandwich on a hard roll with salt, pepper and ketchup. On my way to work, I used to pass this total dive of a truck stop. It was clean, if you didn't look too hard. And they made THE BEST sandwiches ever.
2. What's your favorite cereal?
My favorite grownup cereal is Multi-Grain Cheerios. My favorite not so grownup cereal is Cocoa Krispies.
3. How often do you eat out? Do you want that to change?
I would eat out every day if I could because a) I hate to cook and b) I love to eat. I usually eat out about once a week.
4. What do you plan on having for dinner?
I had dinner. MultiGrain Cheerios. I just got in from a very long day at work and there was no way I had the energy to even microwave anything.
5. What's your favorite restaurant? Why?
Fast Food: Wendy's. My love for Wendy's is unholy.
Spanish/Portuguese: There is an entire section of Newark that has nothing but excellent restaurant after restaurant. It's called the Ironbound, my family is from there, and
misscontent can back me on the excellence of the food.
Italian: A little restaurant around the corner from work called The Reservoir.
Mexican: Mexicali Rose. It's kind of a dive, but kickass food.
Indian: There is a hole in the wall in a part of Edison that is nicknamed "Little India" that makes dosai and a coconut chutney that makes me drool on myself. To my knowledge, the place has no name, but there is a giant statue of Ganesh in the lobby, so when we want to go there, we say, "Let's go see Ganesh." This is probably sacrilege, but we mean no harm. :-)
Chinese: Conveniently, the best restaurant around is around the corner from my house. Lotus Blossom. Good food and great reusable plastic takeout containers. I have priorities, damn it.
I'm also fond of chain restaurants like TGI Fridays, Jose Tejas, Chevys, etc.
I need to stop now because I'm starving. :-)
