I am at work, which is sad because that means I am home and no longer with [livejournal.com profile] burningeden and [livejournal.com profile] spikesleman.

Left North Carolina at about 3:30 PM yesterday. Pulled in my driveway at 5:30 AM. Extra long drive courtesy of rain that started in NC, and followed me through TN, VA, WV, MD, PA and into NJ. I especially enjoyed the blinding rain and road construction in PA.

Am v. v. tired.

[livejournal.com profile] anniemoon, I thought of you as I spent 5,589 hours driving through VA.

My new tires performed admirably, however, and my iPod provided the (endless) soundtrack for my journey, so it wasn't bad.

but I would not recommend driving through PA in the dark while it is raining out. Just FYI.

Especially near the end of a thousand-hour drive...

Honestly, I'm amazed that you could do that not just once but twice within just a couple of days. Even when I was young and healthy, I couldn't have done it.

I actually enjoy driving, when there are no troopers lurking about to ticket me. That 12-14 hour drive is tough, only because it's longer than you really should drive in one shot, but not long enough to justify stopping for the night.

Of course, you're talking to the woman who has driven straight from NJ to FL before. I'm not the best judge. I spent my first year of college with classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I would drive home from MA on Thursday night and drive back on Monday nights.
