mind-numbing loathing, now with more rage

Have you ever worked with someone whom the mere sight of induces mind-numbing rage on your part?

I mean the kind of rage where you stare at that person and all you can think about is rabid squirrels gnawing them apart, piece by agonizing piece.

The kind of rage where you could cheerfully break every bone in that person's body with a bat and dance on the bloody remains.

Or maybe I'm just hostile like that.

Oh god yeah. I'm with you on that one. I'm nice. I like EVERYONE. Everyone except for this one person, who really really really REALLY does my nat. And what's worse is that they totally don't get it. When I finally flipped and yelled for them to get the fuck away, they just did not get it! Instead they laughed, and continued to yabber on and on and on and on in my ear...and I was just ARRRGGHHH!! Sometimes you just wanna spoon out their eyes.

It's all the best and worst parts about working for family.

I am fortunate enough that I work directly for the owner, which essentially means I answer to myself. It's better than having to work for middle management and be trapped by layers of administrivia, but there are days that I'm sure there's nothing I couldn't fix with a rooftop and an AK-47.

Oh yeah. I know that kind of person well. The last one I had to deal with was many years ago in Florida. She was my boss. I lasted in that job for a whoppin' three days and quit. Man, life is too short, you know?

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending), I work for a friend, so I'm not in the position where I loathe my boss.

I wouldn't subject myself to that if that was the case.
