Who decided that airing Vicki Nelson against Harry Dresden was a GOOD IDEA????

If I didn't have a Tivo, there would be serious unhappiness in my household. Now if I could only figure out how to work it. :->

I watched the Blood Ties premiere on Lifetime. I <3 Tanya Huff and was thrilled to hear that this series was being made into a tv show. I'm kind of surprised that Lifetime was the one that went for it, but hey, I'll take it where I can get it.

It's been a long time since I've read the novels, I'm going to have to dig them out of the spare bedroom library so I can revisit them.

So...is the Vicki Nelson show good? I DVRed it but I'm a bit nervous to watch since I love the books so much.

I enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed the fact that they didn't "glam" her up for tv; she's still as cranky and headstrong as ever.

Books? There are books? Could you give the the author's name?

Okay, first of all, Harry Dresden re-airs at 11 and again at 5 on Fridays, so you do have options there.

I wasn't overly thrilled with the execution of this. The dialogue felt really off or stilted in parts, and the guy playing Mike is totally miscast. Hopefully they'll work out some kinks in the next few parts, but it did make me want to reread the books, since it's been awhile. I think Dresden Files is a much stronger show, and I also liked the series Blade and was pissed they cancelled it.

I had no idea that there was a spin off series with Tony and Henry. Now I'll have to hunt those books down. I was disappointed that Tony wasn't in Blood Ties, but now I understand that they're saving the character in case they want to develop the other books for tv.
