fat oppression olympics
Apr. 16th, 2008 10:43 amBefore I say anything else, ANYTHING, I want say this: I AM FAT. I am going to say the word fat a lot in this post, so if you're afraid of it, don't read any further.
FAT FAT FAT FAT FAT FAT FAT FAT FAT FAT FAT FAT FAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been fat since I was a kid. I was a fat teenager. I am a fat adult.
Having said that, I am tired of other fat people. Not all fat people, mind you. Just the fat people who are constantly jockeying for a table at the oppression olympics.
To those fat people:
You're fat. I get it. Move along. Your fat, and your issues surrounding your fat, do not give you the right to accost other people. Just like people do not have the right to get up in your face to tell you that you're fat and you're going to drop dead tomorrow of a heart attack, you do not have the right to get up in their faces about being thin, wanting to lose weight, or anything else.
If people want to lose weight, it is not about you. Unless they actually walk up to you and tell you the song really IS about you, it's not. Even if someone wants to lose weight because he or she doesn't feel attractive, it still isn't about you. It's about them.
Now for those thin people who are reading this and thinking, "Ha ha! Take that, fatties!":
Reread this post with the word "fat" replaced by "thin." Get the picture? You can move right the fuck along too.
Love and cupcakes,
Lex

Date: 2008-04-16 05:18 pm (UTC)Wait, no it doesn't because people are, in general, idiots.
I'm losing weight for me. I couldn't care less what anyone thinks when they look at me. I want to buy cute clothes and not have the health issues my mom began having around my age. I want to be able to sit on the floor and get up without it being a near impossibility. I want to be able to run up the stairs without keeling over.
It's ALL about me, baby. *g*
