I found this in the 'welcome' notes for a fiction group.

Does this seem welcoming to you?

I realize that slash is not universally adored. I have no issue with that. I don't adore all slash myself, so why should everyone else? Nor do I subscribe to the notion that slash is inherently better written, more entertaining, more [insert adjective of choice here] than het or gen.

But the above, as a statement, seems a little too homophobic for comfort.

Is it? Or am I being overly sensitive?

Like slash is a personal affront.

What did slashers ever do to her? Attack her? Make her read fic about men kissing other men?
