I am feeling less like something scraped off the bottom of a shoe, which is good. I went back to work yesterday after three weeks' sick leave.

When I saw the state of my office, I almost went back to my car and drove far, far away. There are many, many things that require my attention. As of this evening, I have cleared off my desk. I still have not listened to my voicemail (count: 28 messages) because I am, quite frankly, terrified.

I had quite the haul from my own birthday earlier this month. From syzylynx I got Sloppy Firsts (which I devoured and enjoyed more than I have enjoyed a book in quite some time) and Bitten (which is currently being read), and Y Tu Mama Tambien (which I watched in slack-jawed amazement).

In keeping with saff's WORLD TOMINATION scheme, Lynn also sent me Just Like Blood, and saff herself sent me his first album, as well as an extremely apt poem.
