Jul. 18th, 2004 07:23 pmI have guilt.
I have been off my 'healthy lifestyle' for about two months now. I have gained a few pounds back, but fortunately not many.
I need to start eating properly again, but I especially need to start some form of exercising. I had joined Curves last February, but after Jim and I started living together, I just stopped going.
And then we gained about fifty pounds between the two of us.
I am a non-insulin-dependant diabetic. I also have high blood pressure, asthma, and osteoarthritis, as well as a host of minor ailments. The extra weight made everything exponetially worse. My doctor had a cow, and I got the direct order to lose weight OR ELSE. I changed my eating habits, and over the course of four or five months, I lost about forty pounds.
I would be losing faster if I started exercising. Curves was ideal for me, it was low-key, low-pressure, and over fairly quickly. But since the whole thing about the founder's support of anti-abortion groups broke, I cannot in good conscience hand over my $40.00 a month to Curves.
He is absolutely entitled to his own opinions. I am absolutely entitled to refuse to fund his support of organizations that I oppose.

Anyone found a Curves-like program to fill the void?
