Mar. 10th, 2005 10:31 pmFANFIC AUTHORS APPRECIATION WEEK
March 6 through March 13
Post to your LJ each day at least one of your favorite fanfic authors and why you love them, their work, and why they need more appreciation.

There's no way I could ever do one a day, because I'm far too disorganized for that. Having said that, here are a few of my very favoritethings writers. I have chosen to concentrate on "Classic" B/A writers because a) some of the newer fans have never heard of them and b) I've haven't read B/A fic in a lot of years.

It feels alarmingly like self-pimpage for me to rec Tamara, but there you have it. :-> She makes it hurt, but it's allllll good. BtVS is just one of the several fandoms she writes in.

My crumpet. B/A-ness of a higher order. I've always said that "Tempest" was the story I wished I'd written. She's all famous and stuff in another fandom now, but we had her first. (Sekrit to Steph: Ever gonna finish "Crimson Threads"?)
Harpy | http://harpy.bitchenvy.com
Whenever I think, "What was I thinking with the whole B/A thing?", I visit Harpy's fiction. "Buffy's Diary" and the Letters series makes me remember everything in technicolor. To me, Harpy IS B/A.

Not only is Chelle one of the nicest people alive, she is a tremendous writer. And even though it's not strictly B/A, there are a few paragraphs in "Wet and Wild" that make me want to die every time I read them.
Sare Liz | http://www.teknovamp.com
"5x5"? "A Ritual Cleansing"? Good lord. ::fans self:: She writes Wolverine/Rogue movieverse too.

Do I even need to say anything here? "Bitter Passion", "Dance Solo", "Silken Cage" ... guh. Just guh.
smithereen | http://members.aol.com/LadyRHood/buffer.html
Talk about Classic B/A. Rebecca IS Classic B/A. A very long time ago one of my stories was a Story of the Moment at The Buffer. It thrilled me nearly to death. :->
Alex Queirolo | http://www.angelfire.com/co/alexfic/index.html
You can't get any more classic than Alex. Some of the first B/A fic I remember reading back in the day (the day being in 1997, of course).
Other less prolific writers:
Elizabeth | http://tns.bitchenvy.com/fiction/archive_am.html#Elizabeth
swikstr | http://www.wintercircle.net/btvs.html
Zorya | http://tns.bitchenvy.com/fiction/archive_nz.html
All the Classic B/A you could ever want is at The Naughty Slayer.
There are a ton of newer? less ancient? writers that I did not mention. Many of them are on my very own flist. Damn them, the whippersnappers. :->
