I finally saw Lord of the Rings tonight.

*yawn*

It was...long. But it's taken from Tolkien, so how can it be anything but, right? It was very pretty, and very convincing. And it was THE GAYEST MOVIE EVER. But I can't get into a movie that affords me little opportunity to drool over attractive women. That makes me the very personification of shallow, doesn't it?

*shrug*

It's not something I would go out of my way to see again.

Or, like I told [livejournal.com profile] crushw_eyeliner, it's not something I would fic.

Careful there, Lex!

I hated the movie, mentioned it, and got trashed for it. Be careful what you make public. *wink*

I think they probably could have had something to drink everytime it showed that scene of the ring/finger falling out of the air off of the dead bad guy. *yawn*

It's so damn hard to find good movies. I'm tired of paying $10.00 to see mediocre fluff. I can't remember the last REALLY good movie I saw ... I think there are people in various fandoms (you two for sure) who should be making the most out of their writing skills by doing screen plays. At least then it would be a GOOD movie worth seeing.

God god... I've ranted....

For what? Not conforming to the hive mind? You know how I love to be difficult.

I didn't hate it. I don't think I could work up enough feeling to hate it. It just did absolutely nothing for me. Maybe if I'd been high when I watched it, it would have been better.

*grin*

I felt sort of the same way about Harry Potter. Yeah, it was pretty, but it d r a g g e d.

I just got back from seeing My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I really enjoyed it. It was funny and cute and entertaining, and I would happily watch it again.

Who on earth would pay money to see something I wrote? Could you imagine? There would be tragic romance, skinned ex-lovers and overly dramatic lesbians. Not necessarily in that order.

;-)

I'd really like to see My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I've only heard good things about it. And to me, Harry Potter felt slower than LoTR. There was just something lacking in it, even though there were a couple of really good scenes. I hadn't read any Tolkien except the Hobbit many, many years ago, and it was really easy for me to get caught up in LoTR. Actually, my whole family loved it, and even though Sam dozed off a little bit, he wanted to see it again right after. I'm curious to see how it plays on the small screen, though. I think I'll borrow my stepdad's dvd, because I'm not buying it until November when the extra footage is added.

Oh, and I don't see anything wrong with tragic romance, skinned ex-lovers and overly dramatic lesbians. But that's just me. I wouldn't be surprised if there's already a movie with those elements out there somewhere, though.
