This is what I've been doing for the past week.



Grumpy new ferret girl, about six months old.



Sweetheart new ferret girl, about a year and a half old.

I got new ferrets this weekend to cheer Piglet up. She's been sad about Liberace. Of course, she now has decided that being an only ferret is cool, so she spends quite a bit of her time hunting down and assaulting the newcomers.

New ferrets have no names yet, because the names they came into the shelter with are dumb. I'm waiting for personalities to become clear.

The 6 month old has some socialization issues, and is also a bit of a bully. She's also a biter, but I think that's because she doesn't know any better. I'm working on the people-biting by doing the scruff and drag, which is how I trained Piglet, who was also very young when I got her. She is not respecting my authori-tay at the moment, so she needs to be reminded constantly that I AM THE ALPHA FERRET, DAMN IT!!

I'd forgotten how much weasel bites hurt, it's been years since I've been bitten by any of mine, once Mullet (aka tiny evil ferret) passed on.
