Clearly the *in* thing right now from the ebook publishers is one woman ending up with multiple men.  This can be due to several different plot devices, like the scarcity of women on the planet, brothers choosing the same woman, whatever.

I have to suspend disbelief A LOT when I read books like this.  I totally understand the fantasy of more than one partner at a time.  I mean, if it takes a whole bunch of 'em to get you off, more power to you.

It's one thing to enjoy a menage a whatever, but it's another thing entirely to end up with more than one permanently.

My god!  One is enough of a pain in the ass.  Can you imagine two or three more?

Look at your couch.  Can you imagine THREE men sitting there, watching football, dirtying clothes that someone (probably you) will have to wash?

It's bad enough to have one hard-on poking you while you're trying to sleep.  But three?  OMGWTF.

That's not a fantasy in my book.

That is a NIGHTMARE.

It would be different if in these books everyone was involved in the relationship rather than all the men waiting around for an available female orifice.  But I can count on one hand the number of stories that feature m/m in addition to m/f and m/f/m.

Do I just not get the fantasy?  Is my fantasizer defective?

Well, it's like any other romance fiction in some respects -- there's an awful lot of crap out there that passes as "good" because it's popular. And popularity is a self-perpetuating mechanism in this industry. The more something sells, the more publishers ask for it. They don't care that much about the *meaning* or even the *quality* as long as there's smut.

It's a major bummer. The only place the problem's not quite so bad is in paranormal romance, and there, like everywhere else, there's a dearth of gay, bi, and multiple relationships.
