Why I Love Crackheads

I live and work just outside of Newark, NJ. It is not the kind of area where one aspires to live or work. You just sort of end up here.

Anyway, a crackhead wandered into work this morning to warn us that the lizards were taking over and that we'd better beware. We asked her to describe the lizards, and she put her hands out about a foot apart and said, "They're squirmy things this long."

A coworker said, "Are you sure those weren't rats?"

The crackhead said, "I know a damn rat when I see one, these were lizards!"

We finally got her to leave by telling her that she better let the people across the street know. I'm sure they loooooove us now.

Heh.

Crackhead sightings are common, as there is a crackhouse around the corner, and they occasionally wander out looking for food or money or lizards. ::grin::

One time at the restaurant I work in,we had a crazy homeless lady come in, get wasted, proposition me, and then start screaming and cursing and falling over. It was funny, in a pitiful kind of way.

We get them all the time, because there is also a bus depot across the street. People just sort of wander in. Although I must admit, this woman was particularly memorable.

There are crackheads - who at least have a reason for not being all there and then you have people who just aren't too smart. Last week at work a woman brought in a bag with her husbands specimen for a semen analysis they want to have a baby - it was urine not semen. The girl I worked with explained this as nicely as she could and the girl just shook her head saying "I have to collect semen?" There is a reason some people don't have babies.
